My stack
Desktop PC
- Custom-built PC
- AMD Ryzen 7 8700G
- 32 GB RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (so I can run some local AI models on…)
- 1 TB NVMe SSD + 1 TB another NVMe SSD + 6 TB HDD (lots of storage)
Laptop
- Lenovo Thinkpad X9 15”
- Intel Core Ultra 7 258V
- 32 GB RAM
Working environment
- OS: Omarchy Quattro (yes, DHH’s opinionated Arch setup)
- Code editor: Zed
- AI coding agent: OpenCode, or maybe I’m just AI agent-hopping? 😅
- Local AI: LM Studio (it also has LM Link so I don’t have to go between two computers)
- Terminal emulator: Ghostty
- Graphics editor: GIMP, Inkscape (oh no, they seem to be anti-AI dogmatist! 🥲)
- Text editor: Typora, LibreOffice Writer
Web development
- Frontend JS framework: Svelte (I’m recently learning that, and it’s close to JS fundamentals)
- CSS framework: Tailwind CSS, recently UnoCSS as I managed to improve browser compatibility using it
- Programming language: JavaScript, TypeScript for frontend, and JavaScript on Node.js, PHP (not much experience, but am learning that too) or Rust (wait… many would think this is a systems programming language!) for backend
- CMS: Joomla, WordPress, or just plain Markdown files for technical writers…
Software development
- Programming language: Rust! 🦀
DevOps + VPS hosting
- Hosting: GitHub Pages, Netlify (for quick hosting), or VPS on OVH (I have more control). AWS? Not so much.
- Web server & reverse proxy: Ferron (my project 😁; also it would be easier to debug)
- Linux distro: stable Debian. Wait… it’s not Nix!
- Deployment: Docker (+ Docker Compose)
I also have experience with hosting several web apps, such as Discourse, OpenReplay (this one uses microservices) or Plausible CE.
“Homelab”
Used to be on some old rack mount server dating back to 2009, but it’s decommisioned. Too expensive electricity bills… 🥲
